Computer Care
| Do not operate around magnets or magnetic devices (i.e. stereo speakers, refrigerator magnets, large motors, etc.) | |
| Do not put your computer's sub-woofer next to the CPU unit (most are not magnetically sheilded) | |
| Do not put broken, or almost broken floppy disks into the disk drive (i.e. floppies with bent metal sliders). | |
| Keep your computer and monitor plugged into a surge suppressor at all times. Keep your modem plugged into a surge suppressor when plugged into the phone line. The surge suppressor only works while turned ON. The computer does not have to be on to be hit by a lighting strike or electrical burst. | |
| Be careful not to put more than one disk into any of the drives. | |
| Do not run any other programs while writing a CD. | |
| Do not press the on/off button repeatedly. Always shut down the system properly. | |
| Always keep your virus scanner up to date. | |
| Do not load any programs or Operating Systems you are not familiar with. Consult a computing professional if you are unsure. | |
| Keep food and drinks away from the computer | |
| Handle all computer equipment with care to prevent damage. |
